Responsibilities

I am a lecturer in the School of Computer Science and IT. With regard to student projects, I wear the following three hats:

  1. I am the administrative overseer of the Final Year Project process of our BSc degree program. I am not the overseer of any other projects, even though those might be hosted on this site.
  2. I might act as the academic supervisor of student projects.
  3. I am the the developer and webmaster of this site.

My areas of interest in pure computer science are

  • Object oriented software and design patterns
  • Abstract strategy games (chess, go..) and relevant computer algorithms
  • Modern extended internet protocols and technologies (server push, server sent events, websockets...)
  • Logic, Boolean algebra, sequential machines
  • The GNU/Linux ecosystem
  • Web application frameworks

I have also some rather engineering-related interests:

  • Nonlinear systems
  • Signal processing (for images, video, audio)
